Applications
These are the learning applications we build from our model of education. Each one finds what a learner already knows, gives practice on what the learner is ready to learn next, and counts a skill as mastered only when the learner's answers show it. They are for students and for the teachers and schools that work with them.
Helicon Learn
Helicon Learn is our web platform for mastery-based learning. It maps each subject as a set of topics and shows which topics build on others, so it can find what a learner already knows and give practice on the next topic they are ready for. It is for students who learn on their own or in a class, and for teachers who follow their students' progress.
Stellar Vocab
Stellar Vocab is our vocabulary app for iPhone. It scores how well the learner knows each word from 0 to 100, and it uses those scores to choose new words just beyond the learner's vocabulary and to bring back words that need review. It is for anyone building an English vocabulary, including students preparing for the GRE, SAT, TOEFL or IELTS.
We build them because our model of education expects personalized learning systems to speed the growth of competence in every academic domain, especially for students who have fallen behind.
